Kelly Leya has been dancing and performing since the age of 2 ½ spending the last 10 years with Maple Avenue Dance under the tutelage of Miss Kim and Miss Jen. Kelly is presently attending Adelphi University as a Dance Major where she has had the opportunity to broaden her dance skills working with several different choreographers and styles. Kelly enjoys going to NYC, to take additional classes in the areas of ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and hip hop as to stay up to date with the cutting edge facets of dance techniques.
Last year Kelly had the opportunity to work with the MAD Competition Team where her choreography received several top awards as well as multiple special awards. This year Kelly hopes to make her mark in tap dance. She has studied with some of the finest names in the tap industry such as Dianne Walker, Bill Evans, Tracie Stanfield, and Shea Sullivan. Over the years Kelly has been recognized throughout the competition world, receiving numerous awards for her precision, style, and technique. Kelly hopes to bring that style to her students along with the joy and passion that comes with it.
