Looking back on growing up, Maple Avenue Dance was a highlight of my development not only as a dancer, but it has helped me to grow into a successful individual in the professional world. Not only is MAD an excellent artistic environment, it is also a family that nurtures their students to harvest their talent to the fullest potential. I have so many fond memories of MAD that I have always carried with me; from 9 back-to-back shows recital weekend, to field trips to see New York City Ballet’s Nutcracker, to teaching my own classes to young dancers during the summer months- the most rewarding experience of my entire life. I may not be dancing everyday now, the way I did throughout my 8 years at MAD and throughout 4 years at Tulane University as a Dance and Theatre major, but it is still an influential part of my life, where I continue to take classes weekly in NYC; using the technique and foundation that Miss Kim and Miss Jen provided to me years back. Maple Avenue Dance is the ultimate in dance training for young dancers. They provide students with NYC- caliber dance classes that are not only physically challenging, but are challenging to the mind as well. And when the mind is challenged, that makes for a better student both in dance and in the academic classroom. Maple Avenue Dance is stellar…. it truly is where you want to be.
