My friends and family used to joke that perhaps I should set up a cot for myself at MAD, since I spent so much time there during middle and high school. Nearly every afternoon and evening I could be found there, either helping at the front desk, working at the dance shop, assisting teachers with combo classes, or dancing myself. Even weekends were spent dancing and helping, especially as I watched the studio grow and add more students and space. Those thousands of hours spent at MAD added up to the best experience a teenager could have. The warmth of my friends and teachers there created a loving community and memories that I will always cherish. Years later, I know that I can still stop by, say hello, and feel at home again at Maple Avenue Dance.
