As a dance major in college, I was recently asked to examine my influences and my background. That background, which has made me the strong student and resilient dancer I am today, traces back to my days at Maple Avenue Dance.
For me, MAD was an environment in which I was nurtured as a dancer, a student, and a friend. For 12 years, I spent almost every afternoon training with teachers who doubled as amazing role models, and having a blast dancing with some of my best friends. In that time, I matured not only mentally into a responsible student, but also physically as a technical dancer...I can now look back and say that I graduated from MAD more than prepared for what was to come.
Every now and then I'll pop in an old recital tape to reminisce, and on every trip home for the holidays, a stop into the studio is always at the top of my list. Even now, I still feel at home hanging around the studios and every step inside is comforting. My friends and I know that the wonderful memories will never leave us, and I can always find my family at Maple Avenue Dance.
